Linkano Terms of Use

Last updated: 2026-05-28

These Terms of Use apply to Linkano, a native macOS productivity app by Marco Janssen. By using Linkano, you agree to the terms below.

What Linkano is

Linkano helps you create, search, copy, open, sync, export, import, and visualize contextual links between things you work with on your Mac.

Linkano is a productivity tool. It is not a secure vault, legal record system, backup product, or guaranteed archival system.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for:

  • Deciding what information you save in Linkano.
  • Keeping backups of important data (Settings → Advanced → Export Library).
  • Testing sync, import, erase, and migration before relying on them for important work.
  • Complying with applicable laws, third-party app terms, workplace policies, and other people’s privacy.

Export a backup before major cleanup, sync experiments, or erase operations.

Sensitive information

Do not use Linkano to store passwords, recovery phrases, private keys, or other highly sensitive secrets in titles, notes, tags, or links.

Other apps and macOS

Linkano depends on macOS and the apps you use. Other apps, system updates, and iCloud can change how links open or sync.

Linkano may not always be able to find, open, repair, or sync every item. Supported apps are listed in Settings → Integrations; that list may change between versions.

Compatibility with third-party apps can also change when app developers (including Apple) remove or limit automation, URL handling, scripting interfaces, or deep-link behavior. Linkano is not responsible for those external changes.

Compatibility differs by app type. Some integrations are read-only context capture (for example, browsers), while others rely on scripting interfaces, URL schemes, Accessibility, clipboard links, or app-specific behavior.

Some apps can provide links that are opened by another app (for example, web URLs opened by a browser), and some apps may need additional configuration or permissions before Linkano can capture or open links reliably.

Purchase and license

Linkano may be offered with a time-limited trial and a paid license through Gumroad. License validation uses the developer’s server and Gumroad; see Settings → License and the privacy notice for details.

Changes

Linkano is provided by an independent developer. Features, integrations, sync behaviour, and update mechanisms may change, be removed, or be replaced in future versions.

No warranty

Linkano is provided as-is, to the extent permitted by law. There is no warranty of uninterrupted operation, data recovery, compatibility with every app, or permanent availability of any feature.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or business losses arising from use of Linkano, including data loss, failed links, sync conflicts, missed backups, or changed third-party app behaviour.

Contact

For questions about these terms, use Contact Support in Settings → About in the app.
